Introduction

Who am I?

My name is Arlen Ren, I'm in my late twenties, and I'm a writer from Hertfordshire, England. My hobbies outside of writing include baking, making art, taking woodland walks and chilling with my beloved, soon-to-be 6yo Shar Pei, Rufus.

What do I write?

Age-wise, mostly somewhere between Young Adult and New Adult, though I do have one WIP waiting in the wings that's Middle Grade.

Genre-wise, it's got to be low fantasy/paranormal. I LIVE for spooky, creepy, in-our-world but something's not quite right...everything I write has a dash of horror, I've discovered. I love writing monsters.

What are my goals?

I'm in the querying trenches and seeking traditional publication. However, I do have a WIP that I would like to self-publish; I want my eggs in multiple baskets. I want to make a career out of writing, and that will likely involve being a hybrid writer.

Outside of publication, I would love to beta read more books! I've read two so far and both were very special experiences.

I would also like to create an illustrated book. I have done so before, and would like to make another one...watch this space.
